Our Story
Natural Pet Foods was born from heartbreak — and a refusal to accept that it was inevitable.
When owner Hana's beloved Rottweiler was diagnosed with bone cancer, she was devastated. But she was also determined. She started asking hard questions about what pets were eating and what role nutrition played in their health. What she discovered changed everything: so many of the diseases affecting our pets were preventable — and diet was a major piece of the puzzle.
That conviction became the foundation of Natural Pet Foods. Starting from a small house in Westboro, Ottawa, Hana and Geraldine set out to give pet owners access to better food, honest information, and a team that genuinely cared.
Today, more than 16 years later, that mission hasn't changed — but we've grown. Natural Pet Foods is now home in a spacious 4,400 sq ft store in downtown Carleton Place, with a full online store shipping across Canada.

We believe that preventing disease through better nutrition is one of the most powerful things you can do for your pet. That's why every product on our shelves is held to a high standard:

Natural Pet Foods has always been more than a pet supply store — we're a community that cares about animals. That's why we keep rescue cats in our store, giving them a warm, loving environment while they wait for their forever homes.
We work with local rescue organizations to support rehoming efforts, raise awareness about adoption, and create a space where animals are always welcome. Every cat in our store has a story — and we'd love to introduce you.
